Sucarnochee Revue: A Joyful Christmas
The audience is invited to come sit down, relax and enjoy the
nationally syndicated radio and television program that showcases
Black Belt music to listeners across the nation and world on Dec. 18 in
Bibb Graves Hall-University of West Alabama campus in Livingston at
7 p.m. The show features many of the top acts in blues, gospel,
bluegrass, country and roots music from the Black Belt region of

Christmas Almost on the River
This event takes place Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. until in downtown
Gainesville and is sponsored by the Town of Gainesville.  Some
activities include food vendors, Christmas music, a small parade, and

Hope America Give-Away Drive
Hope America in collaboration with the Miller family has teamed up this
year to sponsor a Give-Away Drive in Sumter County on Dec. 22, from
9 a.m. - 12 noon.  This give-away is for individuals and families who
are in need of our support dring the Christmas holiday season.  This
event will take place at Sumter Central High School.  Items to be given
away are food, new clothing, new shoes, personal items, and new
toys.  We need business sponsors to show they are financially
involved with helping the community, volunteers to help at the drive,
community leaders to show they are concerned about what is going
on in their community.  Hope America is a not for profit 501c(3) tax

Breakfast with Santa
Join us at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation, 1505 East 4th Ave. in
York on Dec. 8 from 8:30 - 10 a.m. for breckfast with Santa. Moms
and dads bring your camera to get a photo with Santa Claus.

COTV & Make-A-Wish Foundation Letters to Santa
Tis’ the Season to be Jolly! The holidays are a very special time. It is
so easy to get caught up in busy schedules so that we forget the true
meaning of the season. Please join Children of the Village Network,
Inc. in collaboration with Macy’s Department Store in an effort to raise
money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We are asking each of you
to join us by writing a letter to Santa.  For each letter received, Macy’s
Department Store will donate $1.00 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Letters can be submitted child’s school or you can bring them to
Judge Montgomery’s office, located on the 2nd floor at the Sumter
County Courthouse.

Cuba Christmas Parade
The Annual Christmas Parade will kick-off at 11 a.m. Sat., Dec. 8. If
you would like to enter a float call Jeanette Walker at 392-5078.  If
there is no answer please leave a message. We will be selling raffle
tickets on a special Christmas ornament for new flags. The drawing
will be held after the parade. We will also have food and fellowship at
that time. We will be accepting donations for the new flags. We put the
flags up for Memorial Day and leave them up until after the 4th of July.

Angies Stockings
Angie’s Caring Hearts Foundation, Inc. presents Angie’s Stockings:
Grocery gift certificates for Christmas. Angie’s Stockings will be given
to senior citizens 65 years of age and older and families in need on
Dec. 22. The families in need must be a household of two or more
with at least one child under eighteen years of age and a  total annual
household income of $15, 000 or less. Entry forms and drop boxes
are available at Larkin’s Restaurant and Deli in York and Cost Savers
in Livingston. The winners will be randomly drawn from all entries at 3
p.m. on Dec. 22 at Larkin’s Restaurant and Deli, 1104 4th Ave. E. in
York. The winners will receive Christmas Stockings with Grocery Gift
Certificates valued at various amounts. No purchases are necessary
to register for Angie’s Stockings. Angie’s Caring Hearts Foundation,
Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Charity.

Gala Community Concert
The Voices of Triumph, LBT, Inc. Fourth annual Christmas Gala
Community Concert will be Sun., Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. at St. John Baptist
Church in Panola. Theme: O Holy Night.

Christmas on the Square
Christmas on the Square will be in Livingston on the Court House
Square on Dec. 6 at 5 p.m.

Angel Tree Adoptions
Anyone interested in buying a gift for a child on the Angel Trees can
pick one of the paper angels, purchase any gift or all the gifts on the
child’s list and then return the gift(s) unwrapped to the vendor or the
Department of Human Resources office by noon on Dec. 18th. Just be
sure the angel with the child’s name is attached to the gift.
Monetary donations can also be made to DHR’s Needy Children Fund.
The angels will be available for selection from the Angel Trees,
located at West Alabama Bank and Trust, Bank of York (Livingston),
Sumter County Credit Union and Regions Bank by Friday, November

York Tree Lighting & Christmas Parade
The York Christmas Parade will be Sat., Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. The
theme will be “An American Christmas” this year. Call York City Hall at

"Lets' Make A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord" Pre-Christmas
Concert
Pastor B. Nelson Little and the Galilee Baptist Church Family of
Panola will present a "Lets' Make A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord" Pre-
Christmas Concert featuring the Joyful Aires of Birmingham and the
Joyful Aires of Cuba on Sat., Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.  Mark your calendar

Epes Pride Chapter #657 Order of Eastern Star and Johnson Delight
Court #66 Heroines of Jericho Annual Christmas Fellowship Meeting
will be held Saturday, December 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem
Educational and Religious Center in Epes.  Each member is asked to

Children’s Program, and Communion Service
The Livingston United Methodist Church Christmas Cantata will be
during the morning worship service at 11 a.m. on Dec. 9. One Starry
Night at 4-6 p.m. The Livingston United Methodist White Christmas
Children’s Program will be Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. The Communion Service
at Livingston United Methodist will be Mon., Dec. 24 at 5:30 p.m.

LJHS Drama Club Present “A New Age Christmas Carol”
Visit the Livingston Jr. High School Auditorium on Thurs., Dec. 13 at 6
p.m. for the Livingston Jr. High School Drama Club’s “A New Age
Christmas Carol.” We at the Livingston Jr, High School are pleased to
announce the creation and debut of our drama club! Through the
vision of Superintendent Powell, the leadership of Principal Jemision,
and the dedication of faculty and staff, the drama club has become a
reality. Research has shown that the implementation of the arts in
students’ curriculum promotes school attendance and a well rounded
student body, leading to better achievement overall. The drama club
will perform two major productions each school year. The first play is
scheduled for Dec. 13 and the second performance will be in the
